The NBA season has started and has already seen the twists and turns that you’d expect in an action flick. But it’s time to put the antics of those superstar players to the side to discuss the world of the NBA Developmental League. The likes of Byron Mullins and Alonzo Gee who both had extended [...]

The D-League is a place where many second round and undrafted players have a place to shine, somewhere that struggling players can turn their dreams into realities Some people may remember Alan Anderson, the MVP (voted by teammates) of Michigan State’s 2005 Final Four team. He is a perfect example of what the D-League can [...]

On Tuesday, May 29, the Idaho Stampede announced a hybrid affiliation with the Portland Trail Blazers. They also declared that they would conduct a national search for their head coach position in which Randy Livingston, a former Stampede standout, occupied the past two seasons. On that same day, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants selected Duane [...]

The obviously undersized point guard David Bailey, is coming off one of his best outings on the season for the Idaho Stampede against the Dakota Wizards Monday night, dropping 22 points and dishing out 5 assists while adding 3 steals. The 5-foot-8-inch, 165 pound Bailey doesn’t immediately strike you as an NBA body, yet his [...]

Perhaps the Idaho Stampede should consider a color scheme change. Randy Livingston’s group donned pink uniforms for their weekend series against the formerly hot Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and played their best basketball of the season. The pink jerseys will be auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Entering the weekend the Stampede [...]

The month of January hasn’t treated the Idaho Stampede too kindly, they have managed only two wins out of eight games thus far, and are en route to the east coast for their remaining two. However, a bright spot within the lineup has emerged recently, and even earned a mention from the D-League’s official website as a top performer [...]

With less than a week left, the D-League playoff picture is almost complete. The Iowa Energy have clinched the East Conference and the number one overall seed. The Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and Tulsa 66ers all sit within a half game of each other atop the West Conference standings and in the race [...]

The 2011 NBA Development League All-Star selections were announced yesterday. Twenty players were selected, and 13 of the D-League’s 16 teams are represented. As always, a case can be made for a few players who did not make the cut. In this week’s poll, we’re taking a bit of a different angle on the All-Star [...]

If you’re a glass half full type of person, there are still two full days of the 2011 D-League Showcase to enjoy, including tonight’s dunk contest and 3-point competition. If you’re a glass half empty type, I’m sorry to relay the fact that the Showcase is already halfway over with four more games in the [...]
