She's a good coach. Yes, first woman to coach D-League. Every move she makes will be evaluated. There's always a first, they're called leaders. Leaders of change are used to being heckled. People don't like change. Of course Nancy Lieberman will be heckled and no doubt at times she'll heckle back.
Leaders aren't intimidated by others giving them a hard time, it makes them stronger. Some of the most disliked coaches and players have been the best. They certainly get media attention. Lieberman's fight to "earn" a place in a "man's world of basketball" is reason enough for fans and players to show her respect. And when they don't, she'll just keep doing her thing. She's a tough woman, don't let the pretty face fool you.

I believe the Suns, Kings and Paper Clips will all adopt the Warriors stance on the D-league (few assignments but a number of call-ups) because most of the Pacific Division teams are going with 13 man rosters. Utilizing the D-league when/if an injury arises will become more common place in the future for financial reasons. The only problem is I don't see any of the 'cheap skate' franchises accually using the D-league to develop talent:therefore, the league has to devise a means of protecting franchises that are committed to player development (i.e SA, Hou, OKL) from being poached.

[...] D-League Digest is grading teams’ usage of the D-League and OKC gets a B+: “The Thunder is that intriguing new kid in class that all the girls are talking about. Good-looking, fun, smart and lovable (unless you talk to ex-girlfriend and scorned lover, Seattle). But back on point, the D-League aspect of the Thunder definitely falls under the smart category. With 11 combined assignments and call-ups over the past two seasons, it’s clear that this is a team determined to utilizing the D-League to develop its young talent. They’ve built a team that’s set to contend in the West with a young and improving nucleus, and they’re supplementing that core with pieces that they’re molding and fine-tuning in the D-League. Using the D-League is not a perfect science, but that doesn’t stop the Thunder from experimenting.” [...]

Greg, I don't it'd be fair to give any team an F based on their use of one individual player. That said, a 2.0 isn't raving about the Lakers. Our graders had them anywhere from a D+ to a B. When you compare what they've done to other teams around the league, that seems about right. There are certainly teams who've done more and made better usage of the D-League, but an F goes to those teams who've basically failed to use the D-League at all or made very little effort to take advantage of what it offers. The Lakers don't fit that bill.

How can you give the Lakers a "2.0". They should get an F for never giving Forehan-Kelly a shot. C'mon. Now he will be eating Sushi with JR Henderson (Sakaragi) in Japan with the Aisin Seahorses. At least he will be making a living wage.
