As a rookie with a 10-day contract playing for the Utah Jazz, Sundiata Gaines captured the entire NBA’s attention when he knocked down this buzzer beater.
Now, it appears one of the NBA D-League’s best all-time stories is primed for a return.
According to a source, Gaines has entered the NBA D-League player pool. Gaines last played for the club Besiktas Milangaz in Turkey. He averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in 11 games.
Gaines played in 14 games with the Idaho Stampede during the 2009-2010 season, and averaged 23.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.8 assists in 36.5 minutes.
After 14 games with the Stampede, Gaines earned a 10-day contract and made the most of it. Over three NBA seasons he’s played in 113 NBA games.
Gaines will be available for teams to claim from the player pool. Will his next NBADL stint provide another NBA spark?
