It was reported by David Pick on Twitter that 2013 Washington Wizards training camp invitee and preseason participant Xavier Silas, has parted ways with his overseas team Maccabi Ashdod in a rather surprising fashion.
DleagueDigest.com reached out to Silas’ agent, and learned that a return back to the NBA D-League is “maybe a possibility at a later time, but not at the moment.”
Silas, an NBA D-League alum, spent two seasons with the Maine Red Claws after going undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft. His NBA D-League career averages are 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists in 26.5 minutes.
If Silas does indeed return to the NBADL, expect him to pick up where he left off from a season ago where he was averaging 30.3 minutes a contest.
It’s also important to note that if Silas chooses to play in the NBADL once again, his D-League rights are held by Fort Wayne as part of a trade from earlier this season for Romero Osby.
