Trey Johnson should not be in the D-League he should be in the N B A. Just go out and watch him PLAY.

I stand corrected. I obviously did not read that article prior to reading this one. I think you analysis of Butch's strengths and weaknesses were right on. Hopefully a NBA team sees the imrpovement and dedication that he has to the game and what he can provide a team.

Your wish is (actually, was, since we had already taken care of it) our command: You can find Kolsky's recent praise for Butch (and Jeremy Wise, too!) linked here.

I would also like to add that the Polar Bear is also leading all Centers in assists, minutes, and steals per game.

Highlighting Trey's impact and the Jam going 4-1 and not even mention ONCE Brian Butch is absurd. Don't get me wrong the addition of Johnson and Aminu have been great to this team. However, the Polar Bear has posted 11 straight double doubles and it is nice that we have finally brought in somebody that could compliment him and take all the pressure off. He has been everything to this Jam team since he came here to Bakersfield. Butch is averaging 18.6 points and 14.0 in the last 5 games and 20.9 points and 15.8 since the All-Star break. I know it isn't always pretty with Butch but with a team best in a efficiency with +22, I am really wondering who is the star and running the show. He is leading all D-League Centers in scoring, rebounding, double doubles, and second in efficiency only behindKoufous who has only played 4 games. I am wondering where is the love?

Catchy title not withstanding, highlighting Trey's impact while only paying lip service to Alade Aminu understates Aminu's impact on the Jam's recent resurgence. Not only is he scoring 20 a game at a .537 clip, he's grabbing 8 boards a night to complement 2+ steals, 1+ block, and less than 2 TOs a night.

Johnson may run the show, but Aminu is the star.

[...] The Pyramidal: Trey Johnson, someone who wasn’t necessarily known as an assist-heavy guard, racked up 20 in just his second game with his new squad. Could he be seeing a call-up in the near future? [D-LeagueDigest] [...]
